When and where is DAHacks?

DAHacks is from Friday, October 25th from 11 AM - 10 PM to Saturday, October 26th from 7:30 AM - 8:30 PM at De Anza College in the Science Center Building SC1102. This is not an overnight event.

Who can participate?

DAHacks is only open to Foothill and De Anza College students. We welcome FHDA students from all backgrounds and skill levels to join us for two days of learning, creating, and fun!

Does it cost money to attend?

Are there prizes?

Yes! There is a total prize pool of over $15,000 from our sponsors!

What if I have never hacked before?

Don’t sweat! DAHacks welcomes hackers of all levels, whether you are a coding prodigy or just dipping your toes into the world of hacking. We will have workshops and mentors to help you along the way, so you can learn, create, and have a blast! Here is a link to our hacking kit to get you started.

How do teams work?

Teams can have between 1 and 4 members. You can either form a team beforehand and come to the event or make teammates at the event. We will be having a team-making session. Note that teams must be formed by the opening ceremony at 12 PM.

What if I don’t have a team?

No team? No problem! Leading up to our event, you can meet new people through our hacker Discord. We will have team formation events at the beginning of the hackathon geared towards helping you find people to work with.

What should I bring?

Bring your student ID, laptop, chargers, personal hygiene items, any materials necessary for your project, and a positive attitude!

Can I start working on my project before the event?

No. All projects must begin after the event starts. Ongoing projects cannot be submitted for prizes.
